We were recently asked and happily volunteered to chat with Kate Hills of Make It British about our business, history, UK manufacturing and running both wholesale trade and retail businesses alongside each other.
Kate Hill is on a one woman mission to save UK manufacturing. She founded Make It British in 2011 as a way of supporting British brands still making here. Glencroft was one of the first members of her organisation and you can find us and loads of other fantastic British brands across many industries listed on their website.
Have a look next time you’re looking for that unique present, there’s more variety in locally made products than you’d expect. It’s also a great resource for companies looking for a British manufacturer or wholesaler.
Kate has twenty years’ experience in the textile industry as a buyer for brands such as Burberry and M&S, so she knows her stuff.
We were therefore flattered that we’d be one of the first to appear on Kate’s podcast and slightly nervous as it was our first appearance on this type of media. We hope that wasn’t too obvious on the interview and hopefully we’ve helped give some ideas to other British brands, or at the very least entertained you for 30 minutes!
Go to the Make It British website to find them on all social media channels, attend their trade show and seek out British manufacturers.
