Last week we (and all members) were contacted by the fantastic organisation Make It British, who relentlessly promote and help companies manufacturing in the UK. TV presenter and journalist Adrian Chiles was seeing whether he could be dressed head to toe in British made clobber and they wanted to see if any of us could guide Adrian in the right direction.
The results of Adrian’s quest – ‘Living British – can be heard on Radio 4 on 15th December 2020 at 4pm and afterwards on BBC Sounds.
We sent across one of our Harris Tweed Patch flat caps which we manufacture in the North of England from genuine 100% wool Harris Tweed cloth that’s still hand woven on the Outer Hebrides and one of our chunky British Wool jumpers with Harris Tweed patches to compliment it.
Adrian’s written about his quest on the Guardian – Britain still makes things? Who knew?!
“Oh yes, I also had a charming tweed flat cap from Yorkshire, but I looked a proper plonker in it, so I’ll have to buy a British-made hatstand and leave it at home.”
We think he looks lovely in a flat cap, but even if that’s not your cup of tea, we’re determined we have a British made style for everyone – perhaps a beanie?
And what did he think of the British Wool jumper? Well, you’ll have to listen to Radio 4 to find out!
