After a last minute shout out from TV presenter Gail Porter’s people for gifts for kids we were really happy to send over 8 of our British Wool kids tractor jumpers and 10 of our Harris Tweed kids flat caps. Hopefully the perfect winter clothes for Christmas.

The items were distributed by social services to disadvantaged children in North London.

You can read more about Gail here and the other items she managed to get together on her blog.

We have a number of charities and organisations we work with each year, mainly local or related to the community we are part of including Derian House through the sale of the knit and natter groups locally knitted goods in our shop, the Yorkshire Dales Friends of the Three Peaks through the sale of our charity scarves and the local school’s raffle and fundraisers. We’re always happy to work with relevant organisations particularly to use our expertise or products in a useful or practical way, whether that’s providing sheepskin material to organisations for crafting activities or shout outs such as this. If your looking for innovative ways to fundraise, particularly if it’s linked to the Yorkshire Dales environment, community or wool industry, please let us know and we’d be happy to chat.
