Moorgate Badger Face Welsh Mountain Sheepskin Rug

This predominantely brown rare breed British sheepskin rug features some cream patches at either edge, as well as very subtle grey highlights.

As our sheepskins are tanned in bulk, all mixed together, we can only guess at the exact breed based on colour and texture. In this case we think this unique sheepskin may well be from a 'Torwen' colour variation of the Badger Face Welsh Mountain breed, a brown sheep with a cream belly. 

The thick, fluffy fleece is very soft to touch. There is a slight variation with the fleece length, with shorter wool on the cream edges and a small bald patch where the skin is visible, left deliberately to allow the rug to sit flat without curling under. 

The colouring of 'all-brown' rugs like this can be quite deceptive when viewed in photos rather than in person, particularly in outdoor lighting where the fleece is highlighted making it look a more varied colour. Under indoor artificial lighting this rug looks a fairly constant reddy brown colour all over, with some very subtle highlights on the tips of of the fleece. Like all our rugs, it has been tanned in the UK and hand finished in our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.
