Southgate Shaggy Brown British Sheepskin Rug

This shaggy, rare breed sheepskin rug is predominantly dark brown in colour, almost black in certain lighting, featuring grey and lighter brown highlights. 

The colouring of 'all-brown' rugs like this can be quite deceptive when viewed in photos rather than in person, the fleece is highlighted making it look much lighter in places. Under indoor artificial lighting this rug looks a fairly constant very dark brown colour all over, with more subtle highlights.

The fleece is quite coarse and woolly to touch, particularly in the bottom corners and either edge. It has lots of coarse grey kemp like fibres throughout, the breed may be a cross from a mountain breed like a Herdwick.

Like all our rugs, it has been tanned in the UK and hand finished in our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.
