Newbury Spotty Jacob Sheepskin Rug - Slight Second

This rare breed sheepskin rug is predominantly dark brown with some cream splodges. It is likely from a Jacob breed of sheep.

The rug is lovely and soft to the touch, with longer wispy hair on top, with more tightly matted wool underneath, giving the rug a great thickness. 

There is some variation in the fleece length, with a small bald patch found on either edge, common on natural sheepskins and deliberately remaining to prevent the rug from curling under. 

Slight Second - There is a dip in the wool at the top and a small bald patch, where the sheep has had to be shorn and the fleece not fully grown back. It is only obvious when the wool is pulled back as in our photo. But hence this beautiful rug is available at a slight second discount.

Like all our rugs, it has been tanned in the UK and hand finished in our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.
