What is British Wool?

"British Wool" is the organisation that collects, grades, and sells wool on behalf of 35,000 British sheep farmers. Glencroft is a licensee of British Wool which means they verify our full jumper supply chain back to the farmers.

This means that when you see the words "British Wool" on our website or our labelling, you can be confident we have knitted this jumper, accessory or used tweed made purely from the wool from British sheep.

Long lasting sustainable

Natural supermaterial

If you've never had a British Wool jumper before, be prepared for the warmest jumper you'll ever own, that's easy to care for and that will last you decades.

  • Durable and strong - British Wool jumpers can look like new for years, and they tend not to bobble as much as cashmere or merino wool.
  • Temperature regulating - A British Wool jumper will keep you warm in the cold and not too hot in warmer weather.
  • Natural benefits - British Wool is breathable and has hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties, which means you hardly need to wash it (once a year at most we suggest).
