How can a scarf help the local environment?
Last Autumn we approached local charity the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks project with an idea to raise some money for them through the sale of our 100% lambswool scarves that we manufacture in a local Yorkshire woollen mill.
We had a limited quantity of our high quality scarves embroidered with the Three Peaks logo, featuring Ingleborough, Penyghent and Whernside, the mountains we look up at from our Yorkshire Dales home every day, and put them for sale on our website. In February this year we were able to present the charity with a cheque for £500 from the first batch of scarves sold.
Where? Well half way up Ingleborough, one of the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks of course!
What is the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks Project?
The Three Peaks Project was set up by the Yorkshire Dales National Park in 2009 to combat erosion on our neighbouring mountains; Ingleborough, Whernside and Penyghent. Once one of the most severely eroded path networks in the UK.
All donations to the project help keep the Three Peaks Ranger, Josh Hull, in post. Josh focuses on the continuing maintenance of the paths in this special area to protect the surrounding landscape from damage. His work enables people to continue to enjoy this beautiful part of the Dales.
How can I support the project?

Each scarf came in a Yorkshire made Glencroft gift box with information about the project. Lambswool is the perfect material to keep warm on the hills, it’s soft, natural, breathable and insulating. It will last you for years, and the donations we are able to give to the project as a result will help the paths last just as long.
